Australia increases patrols for October 7 anniversary

Australian authorities planned to deploy more police and tighten security, including increasing patrols around synagogues, in preparation for pro-Palestine rallies in Sydney and Melbourne on October 6, the day before the anniversary of Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel, warning that violence would not be tolerated. The announcement follows protests protests in Melbourne in which participants displayed flags with the symbol of Hezbollah, a "listed terrorist organisation" in Australia.
