Investigate Surveillance Powers and the Industry Sustaining Them

Privacy International is exposing surveillance by:

• Bringing greater transparency to emerging surveillance capabilities and the global surveillance industry through our ground-breaking investigations, research, and policy advocacy, as well as by jointly hosting the Surveillance Industry Index, the largest publicly-available resource on the surveillance industry worldwide.
• Raising awareness among the public and policy makers about the privacy implications of emerging technologies, and proposing safeguards and oversight measures that are consistent with international human rights standards.
• Advocating for legislation on the use of emerging technologies which complies with international human rights standards and for accountability of the global surveillance industry through the courts and parliaments worldwide.
