UK schools give system supplier Bromcom an F for Azure uptime

UK school management information system (MIS) provider Bromcom was struck with an outage, leaving teachers unable to perform basic tasks.

Student attendance, fire registers, and getting parents and guardians' contact details are now taking hours, one anonymous source said. Teachers are reported to constantly refresh Bromcom's page until it works.

Bromcom did not provide comment to The Register. 

A Department of Education document says MIS are critical to schools' digital infrastructure but a support document notes that suppliers "will not guarantee that their systems will function and be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
