VisionLabs announced that its biometric and computer vision technologies had been introduced in more than 60 educational institutions across Russia, including Far Eastern Federal University, Kazan Federal University, Tomsk State University, and several schools. The company said the rollout was part of a broader effort to strengthen security and improve monitoring capabilities across campuses, with plans to extend the technology to dozens more institutions by the end of 2021.

The systems combine video analytics, behavioural monitoring, and facial recognition to help staff identify potential security incidents and respond more quickly to emergencies. In addition to controlling access to campus facilities, the technology can perform temperature screening and support face-based payments in cafeterias, kiosks, and vending machines. VisionLabs and Sberbank stated that these tools are intended to improve safety, prevent unauthorized access, and streamline everyday campus operations.
