Emotion recognition deployed in China's schools
Article 19 have published a report investigating the deployment of emotion recognition technology in schools in China found the technology has been deployed in some schools, and is being heavily promoted despite concerns about it's accuracy, it's potential to erode human rights, and whether the technology can really do what it claims at all.
The report highlights examples of emotion recognition systems for sale, that can include features such as warnings that flag concerning emotions.
Article 19 recommend that the sale and use of emotion recognition is banned - both in China and across the globe.
The report follows previous studies, and many others raising concerns about these kinds of technology.
