GIIS SMART Campus Uses Facial Recognition for Attendance and Access Control
Global Indian International School (GIIS) announced the use of facial recognition technology at its SMART Campus in Singapore to automate attendance tracking and control access to classrooms. Students are enrolled through a facial identification system, allowing them to enter classrooms while automatically recording their attendance.
The school said the system forms part of a broader security framework that includes RFID-enabled student ID cards and CCTV monitoring. According to GIIS, the technology helps account for student whereabouts on campus, restrict access to authorised individuals, and reduce the administrative burden of manual attendance taking.
