The Android operating system allows vendors to add pre-installed apps (often called “bundled apps”) to mobile phones. In the past few years, some device vendors have faced scrutiny for potentially invasive private data collection practices and other potentially harmful or unwanted behaviour of the pre-installed apps on their devices.
